I want to show some smaller 6"x8" paintings in hopes of boosting sales...which have been beyond horrible around here. Art purchases are one of the first things to go in a bad economy and believe me it has gone! Because of this I have scaled back some shows that were very slow in the past and been concentrating on producing better work. I figure it is better to use the time to prepare for better days by becoming a better artist. I'm still working on that.
Anyway, here are a couple that I photographed the other day. Both 6"x8" on canvas covered panel in oil.

Interesting juxtaposition of styles here. First one exhibits a lot of recognisable 'Ron' characteristics, beautiful soft gentle feeling. The second captures a striking sense of a harder, colder light that is typical of moonlight. You have captured it well. There is an amazing amount of detail apparent in the second one, are you using small brushes?

I've done several nocturnes now and I like to try variations of night colors. Night can be painted many ways and it is really fun to try them all. I've just finished up one that has a very green tint to it but haven't posted it yet.
Good eye on the brushes Mick. I have recently bought some smaller filberts for small works like these.
