New Frames

"Manu Mele Aground at Santa Barbara"
12" X 24" Oil on Canvas

I need to replace some frames for the gallery and they just arrived...yahoo! These frames are from San Diego Frame Manufacturing. SDFM make great frames and supply frames to many of the frame companies in Southern California. I love their frames and prices but you are going to wait on them...delivery time is usually at least a month from the time of your order. I'm a single artist ordering a small quantity of frames so maybe that is part of the reason. They supply large orders from the big framers so I'm sure they get preference on delivery times. Despite that one snag, SDFM churns out high quality frames for a great price.
Here are some more pics of the new frames......

"Before Sunset"

9" X 12" Oil on Panel

"The Demise of the Allegro, Santa Barbara"

16" X 20" Oil on Canvas

The frames are great and I envy the fact that you have a reliable supply of good quality frames. I am having a frustrating time trying to find a good source of frames for my stuff. In particular, finding any frames here that are seamless at the corners like those I've seen in the States recently. Your choice here is perfect for the lovely images.

Hi Mick,
I didn't realize it was hard to find frames in England. Maybe try the Internet to order them. We've got local framers but they kill you with pricing. Closed Corner frames are something I like in a frame too and if you go through a framer they have to order them since they rarely carry frames with closed corners.

Most of the shop frames are cut from moulding they have on hand and you end up with that mitered cut.

I have nothing against framers except they are all expensive...and that doesn't sit well with most artists budgets.

Thanks Mick...great going on your Grand Canyon painting by the way.

Hi Marian,
Same thing my gallery owner said to me. I like these frames. You get used to seeing your work sitting around frameless while they are drying. Then you varnish and they pop back to life...then you frame them and they really move up another notch. I'm really happy with the new frames....thanks Marian.

I didn't think those sailboats could get any better, but the frames really enhance the paintings. Especially the Allegro. I love those two paintings. Too bad I'm not rich. I'd buy them both. :-)

Sue...I sure wish you were rich! hahaha. Thanks a bunch for the comments. Once framed up they really sparkle. I'm hoping to get the boats into a show at the Coos Bay Museum in Oregon sponsored by the American Society of Marine Artists....if they don't make it there then I'll enter them in a show at the Ventura County Maritime Museum.
