Grass Mountain

Grass Mountain
22" X 28" Oil on Canvas
Looking to the north side of the valley we live in a familiar site is Grass Mountain. This mountain is easily recognized due to the year round grasses the cover it's south side. In Winter there is a nice green side to it and in Summer great tones of gold, ochre and yellow blaze in the sun. My attempt here was to go for the afternoon light as it warms the foreground oaks and grasses and push the atmosphere moving across the valley back to Grass mountain. Below is a detail on one of the foreground oaks...

Beautiful as always Ron... I love the feathery look of the grasses and the edges of your trees.

Did the collector come back for the painting at Fremont??? I hope so!!!

Hi Marian,
No word from the gallery on that. Would be really nice but I'm not holding my breath on it happening. She already had bought the other one so we'll see.

Thanks for the comments too on the painting here Marian...you're the best!

Hi Marian,
My jaw dropped when I opened the envelope and pulled the show cards out and saw my painting. I really cannot believe they used another image of mine...how cool.

I was so happy to see your name listed as another one of the artists in this show Marian...AWESOME!!!! I told you that your work was looking good and I meant it. See you at the reception Marian!
