Shell Beach Rocks

I did this one recently in order to get better at painting rocks along the California coast. I don't do many scenes with rocks in them so this was a good project for me. I wish I had a smaller knife to use in this one...the 2 that I have are really large and the really small one I had at one time is lost to history. I'll have to pick one up before doing another rock scene.

Anyway, this is the result of the rock project.

This is a great painting Ron! I think the rocks are wonderful, they are convincing. Lovely water, makes me want to jump in! Your work is exceptional - and inspiring!

Thanks for taking a look Teresa. I like the look of rocks that have that loose look to them. Need to work more on that. Still, it was fun to paint.
I learned so much painting the water on this one too. Thanks Teresa!

Ron, I love this painting. You have painted the water beautifully. The scene reminds me of a place in Wales, had rocks just like that. Great work! - Sharon

Hi Sharon,
A friend of mine told me to go check this place out. Glad I did. The further up the coast you go from here the more rockier it gets. I'd like to head up a ways and get some good reference shots for more work like this. Thanks.
